Mrs. Maddy Eduardo-Barrera

Hi! My name is Madelyn Eduardo-Barrera and I’m an English Language Learner teacher here at Wilson. I graduated with a Bachelors in French and Art History from Middlebury College and spent 6 months in Paris studying with French students. I received my Masters in Bilingual Education from Long Island University in New York. I’ve been working as an ELL teacher for 22 years in District 11. I have also worked as a bilingual teacher in New York City and my home town of Methuen, MA for 10 years. I just celebrated my 20th anniversary with my husband Jose. We have a wonderful son named Leandro who is 19 years old and attends college.

I really love working with students at Wilson. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some activities I enjoy doing are running, working out in the gym, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and loving on my dogs Max and Vida. A fun fact about me is that I have climbed the incline several times and I’ve run 2 half marathons. I’ve also hiked Mount Elbert and Pikes Peak. I really love living here in Colorado because it is so beautiful and I love that there is so much to do outdoors!

Mrs. Nancy Huerta

Hi! My name is Nancy Huerta. I am currently an ELL teacher here at Wilson Elementary. When I started at Wilson in 1999, I was a reading teacher and then I taught second grade for many years. I have been teaching English language learners for the past 12 years. I have two amazing sons named MarcAnthony and Matthew. MarcAnthony is married and I have two wonderful grandkids named Asher and Maisley. When I am not at school, my most favorite thing to do is hang out with my kids and grandkids. When I am not doing that, I hang out with my “teacher friends”. We like to go hiking, shopping, and traveling together. I have a German shepherd named Zeta who keeps me company at home. A fun fact about me is that a friend of mine from college used to drive a semi truck all around the U.S. and I went with her on many trips during the summers. We drove from Colorado to Pennsylvania and from Georgia back to Colorado. It is a fun way to see the beautiful country we live in! I love kids and especially Wilson kids!!
