1st Grade Team

Mrs. Jessica Kloppenborg

My name is Jessica Kloppenborg and I am one of the members of the Wilson 1st grade team.  I have been teaching now for 17 years and have been at Wilson for 6.  I graduated from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska with my bachelor's and then received my master's from CSU Global. 

I was born in Nebraska that met my husband, Brian, in high school.  In 2007 we got married and in 2015 we had our daughter named Sara.  We have lived in Nebraska, Georgia, Colorado and even in Germany.  

My family and I stay pretty active.  On the weekends we like to go on hikes around Colorado Springs.  When we have time, we work on visiting the national parks and monuments.  Our favorite so far is the Mesa Verde National Park.

I am so excited to be part of your student's school experience this year and can't wait to watch them grow.

Ms. Amanda Panos

I am Amanda Panos.  This is my twenty-third year at Wilson Elementary School.  I am excited to be teaching 1st grade this year.  My students will tell you that I like Snoopy, cats, hiking, chocolate, sunsets, shrimp, and spending time with friends and family. During breaks from school, I like to go to Moab, Utah to go hiking.  I did attend Helen Keller Elementary School and Russell Junior High, here in D-11.  Both of my kids graduated from Doherty High School.  I am lucky that both of my kids live in Colorado, so I get to spend time with them.  My favorite things to teach are math and science.  An interesting thing that I have done is walk on Mt. McKinley.  I was fortunate to be able to take a four-passenger plane that landed on the side of Mt. McKinley.  We were allowed to get out and walk around on the snow.  

Ms. Samantha Wonders

Hi! My name is Ms. Samantha Wonders! I am a 1st grade teacher! This will be my seventh-year teaching and sixth year here at Wilson Elementary. While attending college at UCCS I completed my student teaching here at Wilson. 

I am a Colorado native and a proud District 11 graduate! Family is everything to me! I have two nephews that I love spending time with! In my free time I love to play games with my family, go camping, and attend car shows! 

I am excited to be on this adventure with your students!
